We will be exploring WIND as the second installment of our Earth, Wind, Water and Fire meeting series

With storm season upon us, join us as we explore the before, during, and after of a tornado!

Chris Miller of the National Weather Service will kick off our meeting.

“A record number of tornadoes tracked across central Illinois during a time of year when few tornadoes occur. Some of the reasons behind this historic event will be explored.  We will focus on one particular, intense thunderstorm which produced 13 tornadoes in less than four hours – including the devastating EF-3 tornado which struck Taylorville, Illinois.”

Mike Crews, Fire Chief for the Taylorville Fire Department will provide insight into being a first responder and walk us through what the December 1, 2018 and the weeks (and months) after the storm looked like.

Robert Johnson, Director of Claims with Horace Mann Insurance Companies walks us through the claims process after a catastrophic storm.  Topics will include: Inspection, documentation, and damage evaluation; covered claim damages and payments; along with ethical dilemmas that occur during a catastrophe.

Light snacks will be provided.

This meeting is free for all CPCU paid members and $20 for all other attendees.

If you are needing license CE, please be sure to bring your NPN number to the meeting.
